Stalking the Brush of South Texas
This hunt was a long
awaited hunt for US Marine Gilbert Roman ,
Ramon brought his daughter to the ranch to experience hunting. After talking about the different rams via email for over a year and a half. The hunt finally made its mark this past weekend. The hunt started out with a cool foggy morning that quickly picked up the heat Texas style. We spotted several Rams in the morning , that lead to a short stalk with the herd taking to the brush. After spotting several others we saw a good Corsican ram in the middle of the field with a mix of Red Sheep a Transcaspian Uriel and several over brush Rams. We started the stalk only to find out that the rams were smarter m, at this time.
Restarting our hunt around 4 in the afternoon we saw the a great Tx Dall but left the scene with a dozen of huge Mouflon rams. We turned the sender to find the Corsicans with the same mix of Rams. Deciding to stalk we left only to find that the Red sheep sensed us quickly and the game was on after that. It took us about an hour and a half for them to give us a shot. Which dropped the ram about twenty yards from the time 308 struck its mark.

heat set in quickly from 45 degrees to 80 degrees with in an hour. we decided to
head for the ranch house to cool off.
